  • Location or estate details
  • The content of your enquiry message
  • Any other information you choose to include in an enquiry form submission

Analytics data is only collected where you have given consent via our cookie banner. See our Cookie Policy for full details.

3. Why We Use Your Personal Data

We use personal data for the following purposes:

  • To respond to your enquiry and assess whether we may be able to assist with your land management requirements
  • To communicate with landowners, farmers, estate owners, woodland owners, land agents and rural professionals about their enquiries
  • To manage website security and prevent spam, including through the use of a honeypot field in our contact form
  • To understand how visitors use this website and improve the content and user experience, where analytics consent is given
  • To send occasional updates about deer management and related countryside topics, where you have opted in to receive them
  • To comply with legal obligations where applicable

4. Lawful Basis for Processing

We rely on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR:

  • Legitimate interests — for responding to enquiries, assessing land management requirements and administering this website. We have assessed that our legitimate interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
  • Consent — for analytics cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer.
  • Consent — for any future email marketing communications. Where we send updates, this will only be where you have opted in or another lawful basis applies.
  • Legal obligation — where we are required to retain or process data to comply with applicable law.

5. Email Marketing and Updates

UK Deer Management does not currently operate a newsletter or automated email marketing list.

The contact form includes an optional field allowing you to indicate whether you would like to receive occasional updates. This preference is recorded but does not currently trigger any automated communications.

If email updates are introduced in future, we will only send them where you have opted in or where another lawful basis applies. You will always be able to unsubscribe easily.

6. Cookies and Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4 (Measurement ID: G-1VYH9TB1ET) to collect anonymised data about how visitors use the site. This analytics service only loads after you have given analytics consent via our cookie banner.

If you reject non-essential cookies or manage your preferences to exclude analytics, Google Analytics will not load on your visit.

See our Cookie Policy for a full explanation of the cookies we use and how to manage your preferences.

7. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Your information may be processed by service providers we use for the operation of this website, including hosting providers and form handling services. These providers act as data processors and are bound by appropriate data protection obligations.

Analytics data is processed by Google LLC under the terms of Google Analytics. You can review Google's privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy.

Enquiry details will not be shared with third-party suppliers, contractors or introducers unless you have specifically requested or agreed to an introduction as part of your enquiry.

We may disclose personal data where required to do so by law, court order or regulatory authority.

8. How Long We Keep Your Data

  • General enquiries — up to 24 months from the date of the enquiry, unless an ongoing relationship develops
  • Landowner enquiries and correspondence — up to 36 months from the date of last contact, unless an active working relationship continues beyond that period
  • Analytics data — in accordance with the data retention settings of the analytics platform used (Google Analytics 4)
  • Records required by law — for as long as required by the applicable legal obligation

We review data held on a periodic basis and delete or anonymise records that are no longer required.

9. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • Right of access — to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you

  • Right to restriction — to ask us to restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances
  • Right to object — to object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Right to withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
  • Right to complain — if you believe your data has been handled unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at: [email protected]
